Charlie Stacey is a pianist, keyboardist and composer who has made a name for himself on the London music scene as one of its freshest new talents. He has worked with projects from across the musical spectrum: from the traditional -jazz-meets-outer-space sound of Knoel Scott (Sun Ra Arkestra) to broken beat/grime influenced rhythms of Yussef Dayes’ band, to his US-based psychedelic rock band Easy Baby, Stacey has an eclectic musical voice.
Come down to Grow to hear him play some soulful, spiritual originals and have your ears expanded! Tom Driessler (Adele, Yussef Kamaal) on bass and Dave de Rose on drums.
Gig starts at 8.45. DJ sets from Nicolas and Moggi before and after
About Grow, Hackney
Grow is an independent bar, kitchen and creative space carved out of an old sausage factory by the River Lea in Hackney Wick. It is run as an experiment in ethical and sustainable business and works in partnership with local artists, musicians, DJ’s and community groups. Every week we host events, ranging from live jazz and blues, open deck reggae, open mic, performance art to DJ collectives and more. We offer a range of organic and craft drinks from the inside and outdoor bar and from the kitchen, Slow Fire London, serves a seasonal menu which has been freshly prepared in the canal side kitchen.
Grow exists for music, art, food, conversation, community and belonging. Everyone is welcome.
